So, as most of you know, I am, as of 2012, a design student at the renowned AAA School Of Advertising. We’ve been experimenting with mediums and techniques that I have, and haven’t used. It’s nice to get out of my comfort zone a little bit to try new things.
This is obviously crucial to stop your work from becoming bland and monotonous.
We’ve done LOADS of paint mixing.
A nice little quote from one of my college friends: “A week ago I couldn’t colour match shit, a week later and I can colour match your face! College is rad”
So true though!
We’ve been doing loads of mood boards as well to show how to aim potential products and potential clients/customers - target markets and all that.
We’re currently working on perspective drawings, which I am a bit rusty at, because I haven’t used the techniques properly since about 2 years ago. It’s nice to brush up a bit.
Otherwise, there’s been a lot of drawing happening. Drawing faces, with and without the right proportions, rendering cars and things with markers, doing line drawings, using the ‘sighting technique’ for accurate propertions, etc etc.
I put up some photo’s here to show some of the stuff we’ve been doing, but we’ve done so much more than this. These just happen to be the photos I took snapshots of in the working process. They’re all from my phone, so please excuse the low resolution’ness.
As most of you know, all this college work has left me with very little spare time to take on illustration projects outside of college.
Please be patient, I’ll catch up on some work when I get a chance to. Keep an eye on my page because I’ll most like update my status when I have free time, but I’ll only be able to take on a limited amount of project - first come first serve. :)
All the best,
