A lot of people don’t realise that, despite my illustration work, I’m actually a graphic design student.

We’re doing ‘corporate identity’ and logo design work at college this week (and last week).
Phase one was to come up with a logo for a company from a short list we were given.
I chose a launderette that has a coffee shop that you can socialise at while you wait for your laundry. This is my solution/design.
The logo emblem and typography is all hand traced and painted with gouche and a brush and resized to the appropriate size. All colours were chosen and mixed by me.
Thought I’d post something different for a change. :)
Hope I’m not boring the non-graphic design people.
I’d like to add that graphic designers and graphic design students alone will know much time and effort goes into this process, mostly with conceptualising the logo, but also with crafting and colour choices. Everything has to be spot on.
Our next step is to set up the branding by applying the logo and overall concept to various stationary items to represent the company’s identity.
I’ll post progress when I make some. :)

Back to work for me.
Hope you guys managed to survive your Monday - I certainly had an interesting one.
